Holding On

What is letting go?

I turn to the river

Like Hesse’s Siddhartha*

I watch the ripples searching for the moment

But the moment is always gone

So I watch, but the mind cannot let go

It tries to explain what to let go of

This is not letting go

It tries to explain the moment

This is not the moment

More than trying to expunge the wandering mind

I am aware of creating sets; or “categorization”

That is the way of holding

So, how do we let go?

I’m not sure

But I think we know


*read many years ago, not a relevant reference. It just popped in my head for some random reason.
