This year I’m going to suggest a read, or re-read, of the classic…
George Orwell’s 1984.
In recent months this book has been on my mind. As I watch the culture war unfold in my country, I find myself thinking profoundly about Orwell’s terminology; “Doublethink,” “Newspeak,” “Thoughtcrime,” et cetera. I recognize my thoughts lean a bit toward the ‘conspiratorial’ but I have fun with it. I’m an abstract thinker, and often will draw connections where there are none. I understand many things I say are ignorant, and could even be insulting, but I am unashamed. If I’m wrong, I’m wrong, and I will learn to be better. I hope you all have a great year! Keep on expressing your creativity, you’re star stuff!
