The Hero

The hero ran along power lines

Jumping fence to mail box

Keeping pace with a particular car

Where sat a boy watching him

The boy would throw things up in the car

Or, out the window

Ignorant of his interest in relativity

And time; he remained curious

Growing older, but no more wise

He now drives the freeway

-~___~- one moment

In a glimpse of nostalgia

He spotted his long lost hero

Running on the power lines

Relative to his imagination

He never had perceived the form of the hero

But saw endless possibilities
