Really Confused About Politics (rambling unedited)

I am feeling very confused

It seems as if both sides are brainwashing me

I look at the news, and I do not see fair and balanced journalism

It is to easy to blame it on bias, or some invisible racism hidden under my white skin

But even if that is the case, the truth cannot hide from one who looks, right?

As far as I can tell, it is an issue of love, respect, and common courtesy

I seem to remember that, at one time, you could respectfully talk about hard issues without being vilified (probably a false memory)

What happened to respecting other peoples values, and leading by example

Abortion, Immigration, death penalty, economy, etc.

Opinions on these subjects are derived from an individuals core values and beliefs

You can scream at me all day that one view is better than another;

But I am smarter than that, because at one point in my life, I listened to someone I didn’t agree with (with understanding)

The idea that our representative government should only represent one opinion is appalling

The arena of American politics is a battle, sometimes your side wins, sometime it loses

(and sometime you are not relevant, and we as citizens know where these people are. Lets do something about it!)

There are negatives true, but we were never meant to stop fighting for our liberty

We are a country of philosophers, lets do our homework

Here is a test to see if you are a product of group think

Can you name one positive, and one negative, thing that has been done by President Trump?

If you cannot name at least one, no one who takes politics seriously is going to listen to your opinion.

It is true people! Good and bad things are happening

I only write this to vent my frustrations

I receive the group think propaganda from both sides, and I don’t think for myself anymore

I am a smeared mess of red, white, and blue

All I can do, is what I think is right
